Presolana Ski Arena 365: technical open day confirms growing interest in the year-round home of skiing by Neveplast and Presolana Ski
The technical open day held on April 28 at Presolana Ski Arena 365, the training center created through the collaboration between Neveplast and Presolana Ski in the stunning setting of Presolana, highlighted the increasing interest among coaches, trainers and athletes in a season-independent approach to skiing.
The project was conceived to provide ski clubs, coaches, young athletes and elite teams with a facility where they can train consistently throughout the year, thanks to the latest Neveplast materials developed for technical gate training and targeted preparation work.
The initiative also stands out for its strong sustainability focus. The materials used for the slope are ISCC Plus certified and made 100% from non-fossil sources. Sustainability also extends to logistics: Presolana Ski Arena 365 is strategically located, easily accessible from the main urban centers of Lombardy and close to many city-based ski clubs. This allows children, young athletes and professionals to train closer to home, reducing long travel distances, costs, travel time and the overall impact of training activities.

Throughout the afternoon, the slope remained constantly active: continuous runs, gate sessions, on-field testing and technical discussions turned the open day into a true working session. The surface was tested directly by those who live skiing every day, from grassroots level to top-tier professionals.
Adding deeper meaning to the event was the presence of Federico Tomasoni, silver medalist in ski cross at the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Games and Neveplast ambassador, who grew up in Presolana. For him, the project’s value is deeply rooted in personal history:
“For me, this is truly a special place, because it’s home. I grew up here, and seeing a facility like this come to life is something important. It’s a valuable tool both for young athletes, who can train all year round, and for us professionals, because it allows us to carry out specific work that helps improve performance on snow.”
Technical discussions were further enriched by the presence of Matteo Joris, coach of the Swiss men’s World Cup technical team. Arriving with curiosity and the natural critical mindset of someone working at the highest level, Joris acknowledged the facility’s potential as an integrated training tool:
“I arrived here with a bit of skepticism, but I found a very interesting reality. It can be a useful tool even for high-level teams, especially for specific training work to be integrated with on-snow preparation.”
Among the testimonials was also Ivano Edalini, historic winner of the 3Tre ahead of Ingemar Stenmark in 1986, who expressed his enthusiasm after testing the slope:
“I have more fun here than on snow.”
The technical value of Neveplast surfaces was also emphasized by Livio Magoni, a highly experienced World Cup coach who has previously used these materials in training world-class athletes:
“I have already used these surfaces in the past to train high-level athletes, including Petra Vlhova. I am convinced that it is an important tool to make athletes’ training even more effective.”
Positive impressions were echoed by Matteo Nana, a leading member of the Italian national team between the late 1990s and early 2000s:
“I was surprised by how much this material has improved. I’ve done several runs and the sensations are very positive. I’m very happy to be here - I’m having a lot of fun.”
The day also had a familiar and emotional tone with the arrival of Carlo Vanzini, the voice of Formula 1 on Sky, former ski athlete and passionate sportsman, warmly welcomed back to his Presolana:
“Presolana Ski Arena 365 is an extraordinary training center, especially for young athletes. It allows them to train close to home, avoiding demanding travel both physically and economically.”
Behind the realization of the project lies a deeply personal dimension. Niccolò Bertocchi, CEO of Neveplast, shared the deeper meaning of the initiative:
“This project represents something unique for me and for our family. It is also a way to carry forward a dream that I shared with my brother Edoardo, who passed away eight years ago, and who I am certain continues to guide us from above.”
The significance of the event was also reflected in the numbers: approximately seventy attendees overall, including around sixty coaches, national instructors and ski professionals from across Italy. It was a highly qualified and practical gathering, with the slope constantly active and athletes engaged in continuous runs.
Among the technical staff present was Alessandro Andreoli, coach of the Italian Women’s National B Speed Team, confirming the strong interest the facility is generating even at the highest levels. Also testing the slope were the Santus from Liski, project partner and supplier of training gates, an internationally recognized brand in the sector.
Hosting the event were Lorenzo and Fulvio Pasinetti, owners of Presolana Ski, who played a key role alongside Neveplast in developing the project. The Mayor of Castione della Presolana also attended, highlighting how initiatives like this can act as a driver for tourism promotion, helping transform the mountain into an active destination all year round.
Presolana Ski Arena 365 positions itself as a comprehensive training center. In addition to on-slope sessions, athletes and ski clubs can integrate their camps with afternoon athletic preparation thanks to nearby facilities including a swimming pool, sports centers, athletics tracks and fully equipped gyms for strength and power training.
Partner accommodation facilities are also available to optimize travel costs and logistics. Booking management is handled by two local ski schools: Magica Presolana, represented by Cristina Ramorino, and M-Sport, led by Daniele Bravi.
