Sibiu, Romania: Neveplast Dry Ski Slope and Tubby in the New “Gusterland” Park

A New Urban Ski Hub in the Heart of Transylvania

A new urban-snow hub is taking shape in Sibiu, Romania: a 3,000 m² dry ski slope and three Tubby slides for training and fun on Neveplast technology.

The project, located in “Gusterland,” combines sport, entertainment, and innovation, bringing skiing and tubing directly into the city.

A 3,000 m² Artificial Ski Slope and Three Tubby Tracks

The new installation features a 170-meter Neveplast dry ski slope, ideal for ski schools, beginners, and training camps, alongside three Tubby slides — two straight lines of 76 meters and one 88-meter track with banked curves.

The complex stands inside Gușterland, an adventure park commissioned by Sibiu City Hall and developed through the regeneration of the northern Gușterița hill, an initiative supported by local residents through a public vote.

Sustainable Urban Development Meets Outdoor Sports

Launched in July 2024, the Gusterland project aims to create a major outdoor recreation destination while preserving the natural environment.

Just 4 km from the historic center, the area covers about 300,000 m² and includes, beyond the Neveplast ski and tubing area, family-friendly trails, picnic spaces, panoramic terraces, and a multifunctional pavilion with food-service facilities.

A Dual Soul: Learning and Fun on Neveplast

The Neveplast ski slope has been designed to combine learning and fun.

It serves as a ski school area for first lessons, technical courses, and off-season training, while the Tubby tracks provide an immediate, safe, and thrilling experience.

The alternation of straight lines and banked curves ensures endless variations, making it suitable for kids, families, and athletes alike.

Neveplast Technology: Ski 365 Days a Year

Neveplast technology makes skiing and tubing possible 12 months a year, regardless of snow conditions,” explains Niccolò Bertocchi, CEO of Neveplast.

“Our synthetic ski surface reduces water and energy use, brings ‘snow’ into the city, and offers excellent glide, grip, and safety with low maintenance costs. It’s an approach that unites performance and sustainability, already proven in numerous international dry ski slope projects.”

Gusterland: A New Model for Urban Outdoor Tourism

With the completion of the Neveplast ski slope and Tubby area, Gusterland becomes a new reference point for urban skiing and outdoor entertainment in Romania.

Public opening is imminent, marking the realization of a project that turns an innovative vision into reality:

Sibiu skis all year round — combining the joy of play, the benefits of sport, and a commitment to a more sustainable future.
