Neveplast makes a triple play in Livigno: Skiddy, Tubby, and Snowpark
Livigno: A Freestyle Capital with the New Snowpark20 Freestyle Area in Neveplast
After the adrenaline of tubing and the Skiddy track for go-kart drifting, Livigno now boasts another Neveplast facility. Since summer 2021, a Neveplast snowpark has been operational in a central area of the town: a facility for seasoned riders and aspirants to improve their technique and style even in summer, with skis and snowboards, even without snow.
The Snowpark20 Freestyle area, made of Neveplast material, was constructed and is managed by the Snowpark Twenty crew, one of the leading freestyle clubs in Livigno for some years now.
The park features five different Neveplast lines of varying difficulty. Each line includes various structures: boxes, rails for tricks, and a line of moguls for cross (SBX and skiing) specialists to practice the crucial Start Section phase of races.
Livigno has long invested in freestyle disciplines, building an enviable reputation worldwide. Many riders from around the globe come to train in the winter snowpark. Now, thanks to the new Snowpark20 freestyle area, champions and young riders can pursue their passion in summer, honing new tricks and raising the bar through training on a material that closely mimics snow.
Simone Salvatori, Head of Freestyle Area 20 and Snowpark Twenty in Livigno, explains: "The feeling of riding on Neveplast is very similar to that on snow. Athletes have also appreciated the excellent edge grip that Neveplast provides, both for skis and snowboards. Edge grip is crucial for park riding. In freestyle, you need to edge the board to prepare for takeoff, and then make a few turns to set up for the trick on the structure. Neveplast is an excellent tool for summer training, complementing glacier training and evolving one's style in preparation for winter."
The freestyle area features two easy lines with boxes and rails of varying lengths and difficulties for young riders entering the snowpark for the first time and for less experienced riders who can try the first structures in complete safety. As difficulty and length increase, there is a line with a 6-meter rail for higher-level riders. The last line is a double kink box, with a slightly higher exit for advanced riders working on more challenging tricks.
In addition to the Neveplast snowpark, the area offers professional trampolines, a mini skate ramp, and two slacklines to improve coordination and acrobatic skills through increased body awareness in motion and flight, which are primary in freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
Simone continues: "Our goal is to allow our young riders to train in an environment very similar to the winter snowparks at high altitudes and prepare them to excel when the winter season kicks off.
It’s our first year of operation, and we’re already seeing great results. We’ve organized summer camps for our Livigno club members, and we’re getting requests from Bormio and other parts of Italy. The positive feedback encourages us to improve even further next summer. For the next year, we aim to extend the Neveplast descents, adding more runout areas and sliding surfaces for longer approaches, especially for those tackling larger structures and more difficult tricks.
We also need a larger warm-up line served by a lift to allow riders to warm up with some turns and flat tricks. Currently, our target is freestyle riders. We’d also like to cater to beginners, skiers, and snowboarders who simply want to learn their first turns. For this, we’d need a new Neveplast track.
Snowpark20 has existed for three years and has grown step by step, like all small realities. Last winter, despite the restrictions due to the pandemic that allowed only FISI registered athletes to train, we managed to organize four Italian Cup races and a national freestyle skiing championship. Now, we’d like to organize a contest at the end of summer, maybe inviting some pros who often train here in Livigno."
Niccolò Bertocchi, CEO of Neveplast, is thrilled about this new freestyle center in Livigno: "Livigno has become the freestyle mecca over the years and not only that. Livigno is one of the most comprehensive ski resorts, both in terms of skiing and hospitality services. Now it is one of the sports capitals for the Milan Cortina 2026 Games and will have the eyes of the world on it. Neveplast has a strong bond with the area and some operators. For us at Neveplast, having three fixed installations representing our flagship products is a privilege. In Livigno, we have a Tubing track, the Skiddy track with go-karts managed by friends Dario and Ivan Bormolini, and now the Snowpark. In short, anyone vacationing in Livigno is likely to take a 'ride' on Neveplast."
