Mountain in the city: everyone skiing on the Walls of Treviso with U.O.E.I and Neveplast

In the year of its centenary, the UOEI Treviso ASD association has brought back the event "Mountain in the City. Skiing on the Walls." On Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, many people skied on an alpine ski track and a cross-country track, both designed by Neveplast, on the walls of Treviso.

The event is part of the 2022 European Week of Sport (EWOS), an initiative of the European Commission that promotes activities encouraging inclusion and the physical and mental well-being of families through sports.

"2022 is a very important year for our association as we celebrate 100 years since its founding. A centenary filled with passion and dedication to sports, where UOEI ASD has sought to promote its values in an innovative and unconventional way," says Cinzia Bonetto, president of UOEI Treviso ASD.

"2022 is also the year that sees our Treviso as the European capital of sport. We couldn't miss the opportunity to bring back our event 'Mountain in the City. Skiing on the Walls,' a format that has become one of the must-attend events in the fall as a prelude to the ski season," adds Cinzia Bonetto.

Thanks to the collaboration with Neveplast, on October 1 and 2, children, families from Treviso, and tourists had the chance to ski on the walls of Treviso, even without snow, on a Neveplast ski track that simulates skiing on natural snow almost to perfection.

This year, in addition to the alpine and snowboarding track, there was also a cross-country skiing loop.

Urban Skiing: Skiing in the City to Attract More People to the Mountains "With Neveplast, we share the potential of Urban Skiing, which is skiing in the city as a strategy to make skiing more accessible and to bring more enthusiasts to the mountains. During the weekend of October 1-2, families had the opportunity to try skiing for free, with equipment provided by us and the help of our instructors available to teach skiing techniques to everyone who wanted to try. All this in the picturesque city context of the walls of Treviso.

October in Treviso is also Children's Month. Our initiative aligns with this theme, which is dear to all of us. Sports, especially skiing, are a tremendous vehicle for healthy values and positive principles. Skiing represents a unique experience in the lives of growing children. It fosters fun, socialization, and dedication, and every child should have the opportunity to learn to ski. We have been trying for many years, and now, thanks to Neveplast's technology and creativity, we can do it even in the city, at home, even without snow," concludes Cinzia Bonetto.
