Many ski clubs choose Neveplast for summer training.

The Romand Ski Club, which brings together the ski clubs from the Swiss cantons of Vaud, Geneva, and Fribourg, has chosen the Neveplast track in Selvino for summer training. This choice has been shared by many other teams from various parts of Italy and Europe. Faced with the inability to train on glaciers, clubs have found a valid alternative in the Neveplast track in Selvino, recently renovated with the new NP30 FREESKI product.

Climate Alarm: For the First Time, All Glaciers in Europe Closed

Tropical temperatures, the freezing point above 4000 meters, and lack of precipitation: in response to this dramatic climate situation, all glaciers and locations where skiing was possible closed from July onwards.

Athletes were forced to interrupt their training and glacier camps. Many chose the Neveplast track in Selvino, which allows them to train with their usual equipment on a surface very similar to natural snow.

Marco Ghilardi, Head of Selvino Sport

“This has been a summer of great satisfaction for us. As a coach and someone who has dedicated their life to skiing, seeing so many ski clubs from Italy and abroad training on our track has been a real pleasure. I am increasingly convinced that the Neveplast track can be a valid alternative or complement to glacier training for ski athletes. I thank all the ski clubs that visited us: among them, besides the clubs from Bergamo and the Magoni ski team, which are local, the Valtournenche Ski Club, the Lecco Ski Club, and the Courmayeur Monte Bianco Ski Club. Many have already confirmed for the autumn. We look forward to seeing you.”

Theophile Cuche, Coach and President of Ski Romand

“It was our first time on Neveplast. The feedback from the trip to Selvino is definitely positive. The advantage of training on this type of material is that the sensations are very similar to those experienced on snow. There is no dry training that compares. Here, you use the same equipment as on snow and can work on many technical aspects such as curve entry and control. It’s a pity the track is a bit short. If it were a few hundred meters longer, it would be perfect, and I’m sure even World Cup athletes would come to train here.”
